Why is this neighborhood different from all other Gulfport neighborhoods? As the highest, driest part of town, it’s where people settled first. Discover some of our houses on “The Bluff” during Gulfport’s 15th Annual Pink Flamingo Home Tour on Saturday, March 7.
The tour begins at the registration area at Scout Hall, 5315 28th Ave S., and takes in the area east of Beach Blvd. to 49th St. and the south side of Gulfport Blvd. to the water. It’s so close to the waterfront district there will be plenty of time to take a lunch break or shop in our historic downtown.
Trolleys will be circulating throughout the tour so there’s no need to drive house to house. In fact, the homes are close enough for walking or biking. Parking is limited. We encourage visitors to park in these outlying lots: Senior Center, Catherine Hickman Theater, Rec Center, Wood Ibis Park, and beach parking. From any of those you can easily hitch a ride to Scout Hall and then hop back on for the tour.
The Pink Flamingo Home Tour is a fundraiser for the Gulfport Merchants Chamber.
