A South Florida effort to find solutions to climate change will get about $19 million in “tech hub” funding announced Tuesday by the White House.

The South Florida ClimateReady Tech Hub, led by the Miami-Dade County Office of Innovation and Economic Development, is one of 12 regional tech hubs across the nation that were awarded a total of $504 million.

The South Florida tech hub focuses on “scaling climate resilient infrastructure” to address issues such as flooding, according to information on the Miami-Dade County website.
