WalletHub considers St. Petersburg the top city in Florida to be a baseball fan.

St. Petersburg is ranked 18th overall for baseball fans out of the top 272 most populated cities in the country. It is ranked 52nd for “Teams & Performance” and 26th for “Costs & Fan Engagement.” Miami and Gainesville are next at 24th and 25th, respectively. Tampa comes in at 147th.

Of course, having an MLB team helps St. Pete. It seems that despite the Rays’ lower than average MLB attendance, ticket prices help St. Pete’s rankings. St. Petersburg is ranked fifth best in “Lowest Average Ticket Price for an MLB Game.” Tropicana Field is ranked second in “Most Accessible MLB Stadiums.”
