Last Thursday a woman riding a bicycle was struck and killed on a St. Petersburg street. Another cyclist died the other day in Sarasota. And in Pasco County a high school student was hit by a truck Tuesday morning while walking to school and is in serious condition.

Some bicycle advocates are taking to the streets this weekend to make the roads safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.

WMNF interviewed Christy Foust, a public school teacher and an advocate for bicyclists.
