$8.2 million would pay for the continued deployment of Florida National Guard members at state prisons until June.

Ron DeSantis issued an initial executive order in September 2022 to activate National Guard members because of staffing shortages at prisons.

DeSantis also issued an executive order with additional steps to respond to “any disruptions” caused by the strike.
