As he prepares to become Senate president in November, a political committee led by Wauchula Republican Ben Albritton raised $195,000 during the first three months of 2024, according to a newly filed finance report.

The Advancing Florida Agriculture committee had about $800,000 in cash on hand as of March 31.

Contributions during the three-month period included $100,000 from United States Sugar Corp. and $25,000 from UnitedHealth Group, the report shows.

State political committees, candidates and parties face a Wednesday deadline for filing updated finance reports.

Information for another Albritton committee, Friends of Ben Albritton, had not been posted on the state Division of Elections website Monday.

Albritton is slated to become Senate president after the November elections.
