Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. I’m Rob Lorei. Coming up we’ll talk with Lenice Emanuel of the YWCA Tampa Bay about the upcoming Stand Against Racism event this Friday night at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.

And later we’ll look at how conservatives are changing their tune on the Constitution.

This Friday night at Eckerd College the YWCA Tampa Bay will hold it’s Fifth Annual Stand Against Racism event. It’s part of the YWCA’s national effort to raise awareness that racism still exists.. We’re joined now by Lenice Emanuel, the CEO of the YWCA Tampa Bay.

Earlier this week we heard a caller to Radioactivity say that the suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombing should be taken out of the hospital and hung without a trial. That attitude of ignoring due process, the Constitution, and our American judicial system is not so alien. You can hear it conveyed in conservative media this week. Last night Jon Stewart on the Daily Show skewered the push for vigilante justice on his show by pointing out that until recently many conservatives said they supported the Constitution. Here’s an excerpt:

And just a few days ago Kentucky Senator Rand Paul held a brief filibuster in the US Senate where he said the right to trial by jury is precious and that “no American should be killed by a drone.. without first being charged with a crime”.

This week on FOX with host Neil Cavuto Rand Paul reversed himself on the Constitutional right to a trial.
