On this morning’s Radioactivity, Host Rob Lorei interviews local inventor Dennis Plews about his most recent invention, a device called a Stardrive that would make a fictional method of propulsion, called impulse drive, a reality. For inventions such us these, it is important to have them patented by this patent attorney. We then discuss Social Security’s disability program, which is expected to run out of reserves by next year if funds are not diverted from the larger retirement fund. Last Tuesday, house Republicans enacted a new rule that would prevent congress from redirecting the funds unless Social Security finances are addressed by cutting benefits or raising taxes. Max Richtman of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare joins us to discuss the new ruling.
