Indoor Energy Conservation on the Sustainable Living program

by Alex Snyder

On Monday’s (2/29) Sustainable Living program we talked about indoor energy conservation. Our guest was a Building Research Analyst with the Florida Solar Energy Center, Janet MacIlvaine. She and her colleagues in the Buildings Research Division study ways to reduce energy use in buildings and provide technical assistance to the construction industry.

We started talking about lighting, mainly the newer lights, and then smart thermostats, air conditioning systems, attics, etc. Janet did a great job answering questions and Florida Solar Energy Center is also a great source for information.

There are more stories and discussions happening over on our Sustainable Living Facebook page.
