Bernie Sanders today officially became the first challenger to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Party primary race for president. We also spoke with Bernice Powell Jackson from the group HOPE (Hillsborough Organization for Progress & Equality) about their unsuccessful efforts so far to meet with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. They want to tell the mayor to support a “ban the box” proposal with local businesses who contract with the city. They’d like for those companies to eliminate asking job applicants if they have any convicted felonies in their past.
