There is no shortage of amazing music. On 88.5 FM and on our digital channels we have some of the best hand-picked music of every type imaginable. We’d like to draw attention to music that is new, local, recorded live, and old favorite, or is otherwise interesting by featuring a Song of the Day every weekday.

The WMNF Song of the Day for Tuesday January 14, 2025 is PUSH/PULL by Tampa alternative band Peace Cult. Peace Cult is an alternative pop-rock group from Tampa, Florida. They consist of Emma Treneff (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Colten Catrett (lead guitar), Marina Moyer (drums), and Elliot Picciuto (bass). -
Where does one start when talking about Doechii? The multiple Grammy noms, including Best New Artist nom? Being selected as AllHipHop's Lyricist of the Year? Well, if you are from Southwest Florida, you lead with the fact that the hyper talented and witty rapper is from Tampa. -
The WMNF Song of the Day For January 10, 2025 is Serotonin Dopamine by Tamayo Band. Tamayo Band’s mission is clear: Create the music they want to hear. Named after the group's leader, Michael Tamayo, the band is inspired by artists from multiple genres including Rock, Reggae, and Psychedelic Jam. The band formed in 2018 in Gainesville, Florida and began to perform and record regularly around the state soon after that. -
The WMNF Song of the Day for January 9, 2025 is "One Of The Boys" Quil Darling. Darling is a folk pop artist from Gainesville, FL and a founding member of the folk punk band Confession Kids. Darling has two shows coming up: January 24th at The Bark in Tallahassee and February 27th at Sunshine Music and Arts Festival in Gainesville. -
It is GNV Week here at WMNF Song of the Day The WMNF Song of the Day for January 8, 2025 is "Darling" by Buboy, which releases today on streaming services. -
The WMNF Song of the Day for January 7, 2025 is Undertow by Hot Water Music, a Gainesville punk rock band that done good. It is GNV Week here at WMNF Song of the Day. It is like Shark Week, but for celebrating Gainesville, FL bands and the music they create. Completely by coincidence (truly) MusicGNV is releasing a limited edition t-shirt that is based on favorite Gainesville music t-shirt. Get yours while you can. -
The WMNF Song of the Day for January 6 is Ionize by Dionysus. Dionysus, plays "Astro Jazz", a funky spacey jazz fusion blend that sounds amazing live. They were one of the of the very first WMNF SOTDers. They just released a new album called Eclosion on January 3rd, 2025. -
The WMNF Song of the Day for Friday, January 3, 2025 is Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars) by Daniela Soledade. Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars) is the first single of Soledade's latest album, “Deco Tropical”, expected in early 2025. A very special show, Daniela Soledade - Amazon Soul, will be performed Saturday, January 17th, at Bayboro Brewing in St, Petersburg. Soledade will showcase Brazilian classics and contemporary songs, bringing the spirit of Djavan, Gil, Jobim and Sade to life.
Nathan Bonilla-Warford AKA "Nate Dawg" is the First Cadet assisting DJ Spaceship on WMNF Friday Mornings. He has been a music lover his entire life and comes from a musical family, including his touring musicians father and brother. He announced Basketball Games in his hometown of Ocala, and DJ'd events in college. He volunteered at WORT, the amazing community radio station in Madison, WI. His favorite types of music are funk, jam, bluegrass, VGM. His kids play cello, piano, guitar, ukulele, and sing. His non-musical interests include Legos, camping, and science fiction.
