There is no shortage of amazing music. On 88.5 FM and on our digital channels we have some of the best hand-picked music of every type imaginable. We’d like to draw attention to music that is new, local, recorded live, and old favorite, or is otherwise interesting by featuring a Song of the Day every weekday.
There are many ways to listen:

Interested in submitting your music to be featured as a song of the day?
We at WMNF are always looking for cool new music to feature! We are especially looking for Florida bands, music from less-common genres, and from artists with diverse backgrounds.
The best way to submit your music is to email the song file to [email protected]. Be sure to include interesting facts about the song and links to your socials. Also include the statement that you allow the use of your song for podcasting. We can provide a simple license agreement as needed.

October is People with Disabilities Month at WMNF. The WMNF Song of the Day for October 29 is Over/Under by Pohgoh. Pohgoh are absolutely Tampa Bay legends. They know about making music music with disability due to Susie's diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis over 21 years ago.

The WMNF Song of the Day for is October 28, 2024 is Dirt Opera by Sarasota group, The Tilt. Their new album The Long Game comes out November 1st, and they have a release show on November 2nd at Oscura, in Bradenton.

The WMNF Song of the Day for October 22, 2024 is Origami Crane by Arcadia Grey. They describe themselves as "Chicago based Midwest Shine Punk". You should totally stream their new album, Casually Crashing. Or buy it digitally or vinyl on Bandcamp. Arcadia Grey are playing Emo Night Tampa show Tonight (Tuesday) at Hooch and Hive with Michael Cera Palin, Kerosene Heights, and Leisure Hour.

The WMNF Song of the Day for October 21, 2024 is Doom by Blvck Spvde and The Cosmos. Despite the ominous sound sounding name, the motivation is actually much more positive and the message that we need while recovering from two hurricanes. The "Overjoyed Through The Noise" Album released on digital 10/18/24 and can be purchased digitally on Bandcamp. On 11/15/24 it will be available on Vinyl, CD, Tape via Mellow Music Group.

In the southwest Florida we are blessed with so many much-loved venues for indie musicians. Skipper's Smokehouse, Fogartyville, Floridan Social, Crowbar and so many more. So it is not surprising that our featured band today decided to come to the Tampa Bay area to record their second live album The WMNF Song of the Day for October 18, 2024 is "In the Mood" by Charleston, SC based tomatoband. It was recorded exactly five years ago today at Dunedin Brewery.
Nathan Bonilla-Warford AKA "Nate Dawg" is the First Cadet assisting DJ Spaceship on WMNF Friday Mornings. He has been a music lover his entire life and comes from a musical family, including his touring musicians father and brother. He announced Basketball Games in his hometown of Ocala, and DJ'd events in college. He volunteered at WORT, the amazing community radio station in Madison, WI. His favorite types of music are funk, jam, bluegrass, VGM. His kids play cello, piano, guitar, ukulele, and sing. His non-musical interests include Legos, camping, and science fiction.
