RTP Live! Feb 13, 2013 Black History Month Performance

Studio@620 WMNF Radio Theatre Project will celebrate Black History Month with:

"The Rocks Are Gonna Cry Out" is the first part of a trilogy "the road weeps, the well runs dry" that merges the myth, folklore and history of the Black Seminole people. The trilogy is written by poet/playwright, Marcus Gardley. Fanni Green, director

Marcus Gardley is a poet-playwright who was awarded the 2011 PEN/Laura Pels award for Mid-Career Playwright. He holds an MFA in Playwriting from Yale Drama School and is a professor of Playwriting at Brown University

*“Francisco Menendez”* is the remarkable story of the former slave, who escapes from British Carolina to Spanish Florida in the 18th Century and how he becomes the Commander of Fort Moses, the first settlement of freed peoples in North America.. The scipt is written and performed by Bob Devin Jones. Lisa Powers Triconi, Director

Bob Devin Jones , is a writer, director, actor and Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Studio@620. Several of Jone’s scripts have been performed by the Radio Theatre Project

"The Continuing Adventures of Noel Berlin, Cabaret Detective" is the fourth in a continuing series written especially for the RTP Live! Ensemble by Paul Wilborn and Matt Cowley. This new series features the Ensemble members in cliff hanger episodes with cabaret music and stunning sound effects. Don’t miss a single month! Ron Satlof, Director.

Paul Wilborn is Artistic Director of The Palladium and RTP Live! Ensemble member. Matt Cowley is WMNF -88.5 FM Web Manager, producer of Soundstage Audio Theatre and RTP Live!’s Foley master. Both Foley and Wilborn’s plays have been performed by Radio Theatre Project.

The performance is free, and will be recorded for later broadcast on Soundstage, WMNF's radio theater show.
