Sustainable Living Program – Tampa Bay’s Marine Environment

Share

On Monday’s  (11/7/16) Sustainable Living Program we talked about Tampa Bay’s marine environment with three guests: Libby Carnahan, our Florida Sea Grant Agent with Pinellas County Extension Service; David Schramm, an author and Ethical Boater; and Hans Wilson with the Marine Industries Association of South West Florida.

Our guests all joined the program to talk about environmental marine stewardship. Some of Libby’s talking points were: submerged aquatic vegetation and the shallow water challenges that brings to boaters and wildlife; resource protection zones for Manatees; some seagrass protection zones; and the success stories related to those.

David talked about his book ‘Jenny Journey,’ The Reality of Living the Dream’ and ethical boat here and on his journey. Hans talked about the effort of Marine Industries Association Non Profit to promote marine stewardship and boating safety.
