What is the real cost of “Medicare for all?”

Even with the Affordable Care Act, 33 million Americans are uninsured and another 15-55 million are underinsured.  Yet by far, American’s pay the highest  health costs per capita of any nation in the world.  With the elections coming up our healthcare system is still a major issue. Should we keep Obama Care? Should we get rid of it and start over? Conservatives want to overthrow Obama Care and Hillary Clinton wants to expand it.  Bernie Sanders proposes a single-payer or “medicare for all” healthcare system. But many on the left and the right are saying “Not so fast!” “Can we afford it?” With many misleading myths on how a single payer system can effect the economy it can be a little confusing to the average voter. That’s why Dr. Steffie Woolhandler, MD, MPH, FACP, co-founder and board member of Physicians for a National Health Program will be joining us on today’s show to debunk the myths and give us the facts.

TITLE IX

Did you know that Title IX is about far more than just athletics?  More importantly, it mandates that schools have equal treatment in all areas of academic life. Sadly, in our time, sexual abuse and assault are serious problems on high school and university campuses.  Students are fighting back because the institutions have not responded to these serious problems.  Under Title IX students are demanding a campus environment where they can feel safe and secure to pursue their education. Nancy Hogshead-Makar, CEO and founder of Champion women will discuss these issues on the From a Woman’s Point of View show. You can listen to the show in the archives.
