Florida Vegetable Gardening

Share

On today’s WMNF 88.5FM Sustainable Living Program we talked about insects and diseases that affect the vegetables we grow here in West Central Florida. Today’s guests work at the University of Florida Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Wimauma. This year’s AG Expo at the Research Center will be taking place on Wednesday, November 4th. Gary Valled, the Associate Center Director at the Research Center joined us; he’s an Associate Professor of Plant Pathology in Vegetables and Ornamental plants. The Assistant Professor of Entomology in Vegetables and Ornamentals at the IFAS Research Center, Hugh Smith, also joined the show. We talked about mulches, management of diseases & insects, the AG Expo, how to get help, tomato viruses, etc. You’re welcome to contact Gary or Hugh at the center. http://gcrec.ifas.ufl.edu
