Living Mirror Playback Theater of Tampa Bay & WMNF Present… Can You See Us? Bringing focus to hunger and homelessness.

In our land of plenty, the problem of hunger and homelessness is both tragic and inexcusable. We invite activists who are tackling these issues to share their experiences, and we also invite those dealing with these issues in their lives to share their stories to help promote understanding and change. Living Mirror will enact these stories respectfully with a view toward promoting compassion and positive action. Understanding the human cost of this issue is both enlightening and vital to affecting societal change, and regardless of your own personal circumstance – you can join us to increase your awareness and inspire action.

Come share your experiences and watch Living Mirror Playback Theater reenact those stories for a compelling afternoon of theater and community.

Playback Theater is a chance to hear compelling true, personal, first-person stories, and each show in this series is based on the WMNF monthly mission calendar. However, Playback Theater is completely improvised–both for the audience members who speak, and for the performers who then reflect back, dramatically what they have heard. Nothing has been pre-planned. It is improvisational theater at its best and most compelling.

We invite community activists and interested listeners to come and share their thoughts and experiences. Then, Living Mirror will “playback” those stories using improvisational techniques. It will be a compelling evening of community sharing and theater – and these shows are free – but space in our studio is limited, so please reserve your seat below and come to the West side entrance no later than 1:50pm.
