Hot AIR: Ceramic Artists in Residence Welcome Show

Opening Reception: September 14, from 5-9pm

Show run: September 14 – October 31

Open the window, let in some AIR! The Morean Center for Clay not only provides a space for our studio members, but also opportunities for artists in the early stages of their careers. An Artist in Residence (or A.I.R. for short) works and teaches at the MCC in exchange for studio space and resources to help them develop their art practice. Residents come from far and wide to Saint Petersburg and stay between one and two years. Some go on to master’s programs, teaching positions, and some previous residents have even stayed on as employees of the Clay Center.

This year’s show will feature our two continuing residents, Erica Bleu and Jon Green, and formally introduce our two incoming artists, Charles Morrison and Nina Samuels. The opening reception is a special showcase of new and familiar faces. These artists are as unique from one another as they are talented.
