Marvin Boone

“Marvelous Marvin” is the son of former deejay Marvin Boone, Sr., a man who couldn’t stand the new music called rock ‘n’ roll back in 1955 so he moved into news. While working at Cleveland’s WHK, Marvin Sr. introduced his son to Don Imus and some others there who he hoped would talk him out of going into the radio business. But the effort didn’t work.
After graduating from the Ohio School of Broadcasting, Boone has professionally hosted shows on several FM stations for the past 40+ years, all of those in the Tampa Bay market. He has been volunteering at WMNF for 40 years, going back to the 60’s show with Linda Lu & the Rebel, the Blues show with The Soulman, Bob Scheir, & is currently on The Rhythm Revival.
