On the WMNF 88.5 FM Sustainable Living Show, Monday March 16th we talked about solar cooking and fermentation. Our first guest was the CEO of Sun Ovens International, Paul Munsen. For the past 28 years Sun Ovens have been proudly made in the U.S. Sun Ovens International takes a private sector approach to helping solve global problems by developing self-sustaining projects in Third World nations. They assist entrepreneurs to make and market sun ovens in the country in which they will be used. Then we talked about fermentation with Sandor Ellix Katz, author of two classic books on fermentation, “Wild Fermentation” and “The Art of Fermentation”. He’s also done hundreds of workshops on fermentation around the world that’s brought this timeless, creative, healthy, natural, sustainable means of processing and storing all types of food in today’s kitchens anywhere! We talked about fermenting local fruit and a lot about cabbage and other vegetables. According to Sandor this is all pretty simple to do and there are all kinds of health benefits. www.sunoven.com www.facebook.com/SunOvens www.wildfermentation.com
