Because of the death of a black youth in Ferguson, Missouri, the issues of racism and police killings have been in the national spotlight; but a group in St. Petersburg wants to make sure police violence against the black community doesn’t fade from view.

WMNF spoke with Kefira Baron, the St. Petersburg chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, about Thursday’s event called “Not One More Black Life.” It’s this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Akwaaba Hall, 1245 18th Avenue South, in St. Petersburg, FL.
