Legal aid societies funding being cut around the state

Share

Today Radioactivity goes over how legal aid societies around the state- non-profit groups that provide legal services to low income people are being decimated.

Around the state when a low income person needs legal help with a civil issue- housing, employment, divorce, immigration, foreclosure or dozens of other legal matters they can turn to legal services. But legal aid societies funding is being cut. There is no guaranteed source of state funding. Here in Florida there are only 386 practicing legal aid attorneys. Rob Lorei speaks with
Kent R. Spuhler, Executive Director of Florida Legal Services, Inc. about this issue.
