Hosting The Sunday Simcha since 2019, Palm Harbor-based Cantorial Leader, educator, concert-recording artist Joy Katzen-Guthrie is well known in the Tampa Bay Area Jewish community.

From her home in Memphis and Stephens College in Missouri, she moved to our region in 1981. Serving as a volunteer with synagogues, JCC’s, and Jewish Federation while working in news/talk radio, she shifted to a career in music as an educator/performer and cantorial vocalist.

On the Simcha, she has shared global Jewish music and interviews, with themed programs that feature many cultural details to make the aesthetic experience of Jewish music and experience meaningful and poignant. Her listeners immediately sense her enthusiasm for Jewish life, and for its distinct culture, musical genres, and hsitory.
