This is a pretty decent Florida roads website if you want to see what is going on around the state. Thousands of people are trying to come home. Gasoline is still scarce. There is a website that helps you find stocked up gas stations here, or you can download the app here.

Storm Debris – all municipalities are putting out notice that you should not mix storm debris with other stuff

ABC Action News has an excellent post about garbage & recycling  pickup

St. Petersburg: City crews are working to collect debris from neighborhoods. Please ask residents to place tree limbs behind the curb, off the street, in front of the house. Don’t mix-in other storm debris with the vegetation. No need to call, because city crews are working and will eventually get around to all neighborhoods next week. It may take several days. Normal Monday & Tuesday pickups will be one day late. The regular schedule will resume Thursday.

Tampa: Storm debris collection will begin on Thursday, September 14, 2017 and continue through Friday, October 13, 2017. Debris should be separated by material type (construction material, vegetation) placed at the curb. Garbage collection has resumed, but may be delayed by a day.

Dunedin: Solid Waste Pickup -Pickup for Trash and Recycling scheduled for Monday (9/11) will be picked up on Wednesday (9/13)
-Tuesday (9/12) customers will be picked up on Thursday (9/14)
-Thursday (9/14) customers will be picked up on Friday (9/15)
-Friday (9/15) customers will be picked up on Saturday (9/16)
-Storm debris, yard waste and bulky items will be picked up separately by a contractor of the City (to be announced).  This may not be on your normal pick-up as it is dependent on the contractor’s schedule.

Sarasota hasn’t released their collection schedule yet.

ClearwaterPier 60 is closed until Monday because of some damage (minor!) Trash pickup will be a day late, and then resume normal schedule on Thursday. Please put your storm debris on the easement and NOT in the street. For trees down in city right of ways, citizens should call (727) 562-4800 or email [email protected].

Polk County: Garbage collection resumed today, but if yours wasn’t picked up, it will be on the next scheduled day.

Pasco County: Residents can bring their storm debris to one of these locations (all fees are being waived):
East Pasco Transfer Station at 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City
The Resource Recovery Facility at 14606 Hays Rd., Spring Hill.
Hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For additional information contact the West Pasco Resource Recovery Center at (727) 857-2780
or the East Pasco Transfer Station at (352) 521-0500.

Pasco people, you can get rid of your sandbags at these locations. (Don’t flush them or put them in the solid waste system!)
Sandbag Disposal:
Magnolia Valley Golf Course Clubhouse, 7223 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey
Wesley Chapel District Park, 7727 Boyette Rd, Wesley Chapel
Pasco County’s website lists lots of stuff, plus they have a call out for volunteers to help with Irma damage assessment.

What about the beaches?

Access to Pinellas barrier islands was restored earlier today. It looks like there was some serious beach erosion along Pinellas beaches.
