Experience Live Jazz in an Intimate Setting

WMNF has the newest jazz venue in town. Come be a part of an intimate audience in our Mike Eisenstadt Live Music Studio every second* Thursday at 7:30 pm. You might hear a little improvisation, swing, groove, or bebop; you’ll definitely get a taste pf complex harmonies and unusual rhythms by a wide variety of local and national musicians.

Tickets are $20 advance purchase and $25 the day of the show. Seating is limited. For ticket information, call 813-238-8001 during business hours to reserve seats.

November 13: Canceled The Dwayne White Jazz Quintet

The Dwayne White Jazz Quintet features Alejandro Arenas on bass, Fred Edinborgh on drumset, Austin Vickery on saxophone and Ben Winkler on piano along with group leader Dwayne White on trumpet. The Dwayne White Jazz Quintet distills various influences from throughout the history of jazz to play hard swinging music with an accent of the blues. These fantastic musicians explore jazz through passionate improvisation and dynamic group interaction.

Dwayne White is an experienced jazz trumpeter, music educator, clinician, composer, and arranger. Dwayne has developed a deep affection for jazz music reaching back to his early days. Dwayne has played in Atlanta, New York, New Orleans, Paris, Montreux, as well as all around Florida. Dwayne has performed on stage with Pam Laws, Jackie Mills, Scotty Barnhart, Vincent Gardner, Buster Cooper, and the Duke Ellington Orchestra, to name a few. Dwayne has also performed with the groups Quadrivium, Jazz Summit and Double Exposure under his own leadership allowing him to develop his talents as a bandleader, composer and arranger. Dwayne also composed original music for the short student film, “Slant Blue Elwood.” Dwayne played solo trumpet in the world premiere production of “I Left My Heart” at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dwayne currently performs with jazz vocalist Denise Moore and Then Some among other freelance jazz gigs.

The concerts are recorded and replayed on various jazz programs, including Saturday's Charles Vann Memorial Jazz Party.

The Live Music Studio offers an intimate setting for an audience of 25 who get to interact with the band and this month's emcee, ADTBJA member Kenny Walker.
