What's a Podcast?
A Podcast is an audio file of one of WMNF's news and
public affairs
or radio theatre programs. You can download it to your home computer,
put it on your iPod or MP3 player and listen to it whenever you like,
as many times as you like. You can even subscribe to your favorite
shows - and whenever a new program airs, it'll automatically download
onto your machine. Just click on the links above to try it.
If all this sounds a little crazy, it's very new technology. The BBC
has a great explanation here .
You can see what they're podcasting,
or check out KRCW's
cool community radio podcast in Santa Monica.
WMNF's radio theatre programs are also available via Podcast. Give a
listen to Offramp,
WMNF's improvised comedy series, or the Sixty
Second Radio Hour, both winners of many national awards.
At this time, it isn't legal to podcast full tracks of copyrighted
music, so WMNF's music programs are not available.
Democracy Now is now podcasting at www.democracynow.org.
You can let us know how the podcast is working for you, by sending an
email to websupport@wmnf.org.
