Monday, September 15 2008 -- World Water Monitoring Day
World Water Monitoring Day is a month-long, international outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting the world's water resources. The Southwest Florida Water Management District invites students and teachers of local schools to monitor the quality of rivers, streams, estuaries, and other waterbodies from September 18 to October 18, and enter the findings in an international database until December 18.
If your school would like to participate in World Water Monitoring Day, please contact the District's Youth Education Section at 352-796-7211, ext. 4757. The Water Monitoring Day web site is worldwatermonitoringday.org.
