Saturday, September 13 2008 -- Cure Kids Cancer Challenge

September 13 is designated National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, encouraging people to do something to increase awareness of childhood cancers. Walkers and runners can choose between a 5K and a 1-mile course for the second annual Cure Kids Cancer Challenge, a benefit for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The event is held at Park Square in FishHawk Ranch, 16144 Churchview Dr. in Lithia. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Registered walkers are encouraged to raise funds for a cure by collecting pledges for the Challenge.
